Green Initiatives for Waste Management in Charleston County

March 12th I went to a county council meeting that was highly interesting and informative on the pros and cons of whether or not to renew the 20 yr. contract the country has with the incinerator near Spruill Avenue. The council is still in the process of making a decision, but it seems to me that most are leaning towards closing it. The good news is that everyone seems to be in agreement to ramp up recycling and composting in Charleston county, and to explore green technology.
