I will upload an essay I wrote, "Needing Health Insurance and Having a Mild Disability." It goes directly into the idea of, if you can't have a halfway decent job how will you have health insurance? In fact, if you can't have a darn good job how will you have insurance. I guess that is what some people call the world's best healthcare. In reality, we are #37 from being the world's best care. Yes, we have the world's best care for the filthy rich.
Of course, severely disabled are often eligible for Medicaid. But, what about those who are too well off for Medicaid, but not enough to compete in this recession narrowed job market. When we talk about things like the autism spectrum it can be a severe disability; but it is also not always a handicap. Almost everyone in our history that was a genius had something on the autism spectrum.
Does the one who is fully able to work; but is less able to compete in this recession deserve comprehensive healthcare less? Are they failing to get hired because they are lazy. People lose halfway decent jobs, and have to go where people will hire them, minimum wage or slightly over. I currently make half of what I use to make; they offer insurance, but it is not affordable.
Same discussion is found in the group Health Care Reforms..
